Before I did this ambush, some other cartoonists and various people were criticizing my cartoon, saying "it had no story", "had no jokes", "wasn't well drawn", and so forth. So I decided to restart my comic by killing everyone off. I imagined that the Aliens were ripping into my critics, and that made the carnage easier to draw. That and I thought it was funny to hear what Aliens had to say to one another when no humans were around.
